Magoksa Gapsa temple Sinwonsa Temple Donghaksa Temple Yeongpyeong-sa Seunggok-sa Yeongpyeong-sa

Yeongpyeong-sa

Located at the skirt of Janggun-san at Shinhak-ri Jangji-myeon, Yeongpyeong-sa is quiet and cozy. It is written as the temple site of the mid-period of Chosun era in the map of Gongju-gun. But Hwanseong, the existing head priest of the temple commenced its construction in Dhangi 4320 at the site of Hyoje-am. Budo recently found, however, is estimated as the temple built in the Koryo era, for which further exploration and research is required.

In the belief that a temple is the place where the great teacher stays and simultaneously eternal and ultimate happiness is presented and the things to be pursued; where the happiness of the mankind and peace of the world, and therefore a person who stays, visits or just think of such temple may obtain the ultimate happiness. The temple was named as Yeongpyeong-sa. Janggun bamboo salt and soybean taste made of bamboo salt are famous, the revenue from which is used for the welfare business supporting Gongju Youth Volunteer Center, Gongju Youth Cultural Center, propagation work for correction facility, campaign to help unfortunate neighbors. Latilobum of Yeongpyeong-sa is planted over 10,000 pyeong. This also includes the entrance of the temple, Daewung-jeon, Yosachae, etc., the magnificent spectacle of which is renowned throughout the nation as if it looks like white snowfall when its flowers are in full bloom in every autumn.
